Digestion

The heart of the methanization process is the digester where anaerobic digestion takes place. Deprived of oxygen, the organic matter contained in the project inputs will be able to degrade. This is how biogas is produced. For perfect control of the process, the material will be heated and agitated in order to promote the development and metabolism of bacteria. This will also release the biogas bubbles produced. France Biogaz Valorisation offers digesters in vitrified steel or concrete. Depending on the size of the project, it may be necessary to extend the degradation time by adding a post-digester.
